Sorting
activity
The sorting activity is mainly carried out on packed waste in mixed materials
and bulky waste, collected in different companies. The products are sorted and selectioned
into different pieces of material and destined for salvage material and/or energy.
The activity can be carried out in the selected plant with conveyor belts. The waste is
loaded by a ramp and the unloaded material goes onto a hopper chain and distributed evenly
on appropriate conveyor belts. The selection is made in an elevated and covered place,
equipped with a horizontal belt and communicating loading inlets with containers for each
type of waste. under the working area, different skips are positioned (skips and/or compactors)
to collect the selectioned material. The selectioned material is then destined to be salvaged
in other plants, while the non salvageable material is sent to be disposed. Materials that
are salvaged are generally paper, plastic, wood, glass and iron. This waste is sent to
different plants to be salvaged and finally recycled.
Materials that have a higher calorific power and cannot be differentiated are destined
to thermo evaluation, while the non salvaged scrap is sent to be disposed of in the tip.

This equipment is used to reduce waste volume particularly regarding paper, plastic, and
waste assimilable to urbans.
